RAWALPINDI:

Barrister Salman Safdar on Wednesday held a meeting with former premier Imran Khan at Adiala jail for legal consultation regarding the £190m case.

After meeting the PTI founder, Barrister Safdar left the premises without sharing any details with the media. Later that night, Safdar issued a statement presenting brief details of his meeting with the former PM.

According to the lawyer, Adiala Jail authorities facilitated his meeting with Imran Khan at 3 pm on Wednesday in compliance with IHC orders. He said the meeting lasted 60 minutes, during which Imran was comprehensively briefed on all legal matters, including the £190m case.

"He was found to be in good health, in high spirits, and exceptionally strong, as before. However, his eye complication persists, with significant impairment and only slight improvement. Further treatment is expected in two weeks," he said.

He said Imran gave him clear instructions regarding the £190m case and emphasised the need to argue bail applications and seek a decision on merit.

He said despite requests and court orders, Imran's wife Bushra Bibi, who is also detained in the same prison facility, was not brought from her cell to join the attorney-client meeting for crucial instructions.

"Mr Khan and his wife are being kept in solitary confinement for almost 24 hours a day, with no access to books, television, family, or lawyers," he added.

The IHC on Tuesday allowed Safdar to discuss the proceedings of the £190m case with Imran.

This was the second time Barrister Safdar met Imran this year. The previous instance was also at the court's direction when concerns were raised regarding the PTI founder's health.
