ISLAMABAD:

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that the bar councils should not be divided on the basis of political affiliations.

Addressing the lawyers of Islamabad Bar Association, the JI chief said only the elections of bar councils and JI are held in line with democracy.

He lamented that student unions were non-existent in the country for the last 40 years. Besides, the governments avoid holding local bodies’ elections. Even the federal capital is deprived of the local bodies’ polls, said Hafiz Naeem. He demanded that the government should be formed on the basis of Form 45 instead of Form 47, adding let the leaders rule who come to power through people’s votes.
