Lupe Fiasco suggests Drake buy Dame Dash’s shares of JAY-Z's Reasonable Doubt

Drake has recently been acquiring rap memorabilia, such as Pharrell’s jewelry and Tupac’s ring.

Lupe Fiasco thinks Drake is ideally suited to buy Dame Dash’s share of JAY-Z’s highly praised debut album, Reasonable Doubt.

The long-reported feud between the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founders took a new turn in 2022 when Dash tried to sell his share of the album as an NFT. This move led to legal battles and was ultimately rejected by a federal judge.

Although he couldn't sell his share as an NFT, court rulings confirmed that Dash could sell his 1/3 stake in the label he co-founded with the rapper-turned-mogul and Kareem “Biggs” Burke. Dash now seems prepared to sell his claim to the legendary Hip Hop brand, stating on social media, “This shit is for sale 1/3 … only real inquiries only.”

The post naturally sparked many suggestions for potential buyers, including one from Fiasco, who suggested the Toronto rapper might be a fitting purchaser in a now-deleted Instagram comment. 

However, Fiasco’s idea received mixed reactions as fans criticized the notion of buying historical Hip Hop items amidst an ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar. 

The “Know Yourself” rapper has recently been acquiring rap memorabilia, such as Pharrell’s jewelry in the “Jumbotron S**t Poppin” video and Tupac’s ring, which some saw as a dig at Lamar. In response, Lamar released the diss track “Not Like Us.”

“No, you not a colleague, you a f**kin’ colonizer / The family matter and the truth of the matter / It was God’s plan to show you all the liar,” Lamar insulted, referencing Drake’s collection of valuable Hip Hop artifacts.

“You wanna take up for Pharrell? Then come get his legacy out of my house,” the Toronto rapper replied in “Family Matters.”

Lamar further discussed the line during a lyric exchange at his renowned “The Pop Out” concert on Juneteenth, suggesting that Drake could gain some respect from the Compton rapper if he sold the ring to a reputable West Coast figure.
