Don Lemon is facing backlash for a recent comment comparing Melania Trump and Michelle Obama.

The former host of CNN’s ‘Don Lemon Tonight’ stated that Michelle Obama is much “better looking” than Melania Trump.

The comment attracted scrutiny on social media.

Some users attempted to rationalise Lemon’s comment by noting his homosexuality.

Lemon has a history of controversial remarks. In December 2022, he had an onscreen disagreement with co-anchors Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins regarding pay inequity in women’s sports, where he claimed, "people are more interested in the men." 

Additionally, on February 19, 2023, Lemon commented on Nikki Haley's call for "mandatory mental competency tests for politicians over 75," expressing discomfort with age-related discussions. He controversially remarked, "Nikki Haley isn't in her prime, sorry. A woman is considered to be in her prime in her 20s and 30s and maybe 40s," further fueling public scrutiny.
