Scorching heatwave in Karachi sends 62 more to hospitals

As Karachi bakes under intense heat, hospitals report more heatstroke cases; residents urged to stay cool

The ongoing heatwave in Karachi has affected 62 more residents in the last 24 hours, according to the Sindh Health Department.

The latest statistics reveal that Civil Hospital treated 18 cases, Sindh Government Liaquat Hospital 17, Jinnah Hospital 12, and Sindh Government Saudabad Hospital 4 heatstroke patients.

Additionally, three cases each were reported from Liaquat National Hospital, Sindh Government New Karachi Hospital, and Ghaghar Village Maternity and Child Centre.

Single cases were reported from Gudap Health Centre and MH Labour Square.

Since June this year, 51 deaths have been attributed to heatstroke in Karachi.

The health authorities continue to urge residents to take precautions during the severe weather, including staying hydrated and avoiding unnecessary outdoor activities.
