Maya Jama and Stormzy have ended their relationship a year after rekindling it, with Jama confirming the split.

Maya Jama and Stormzy have ended their relationship once again, a year after they rekindled their romance. The Love Island presenter confirmed the split on Instagram on Wednesday, explaining that despite their efforts over the past year, they decided to call it quits. "We've been laughing whilst drafting this because we never, ever, in a million years thought we'd be the couple announcing a breakup, but for the sake of clarity and, more importantly, to allow us the space and grace that's needed for us both to be able to navigate this next bit of our lives with peace, we thought it might be best to," Jama stated.

The couple, who first fell in love in 2014 and separated in 2019, had officially reunited in August 2023 during a holiday in Greece. Jama acknowledged their history, noting, "We decided to try for the final time in August 2023, and we've spent this past year trying our best to make it work; however, we recently decided to call it quits."

Despite their breakup, Jama emphasized the mutual respect and care they continue to have for each other. "We still think the absolute world of each other, we still care and respect each other, we are still grateful for the time we've had together, and we are still friends and will always be friends," she shared.

Their split comes shortly after a series of public appearances together, including at the British Grand Prix and Glastonbury. A source close to Jama told MailOnline that the TV star has been open with friends about her single status following the breakup.

The couple's initial relationship ended in 2019, with Jama's representative confirming at the time that they had separated. Reflecting on the breakup, Stormzy admitted to making mistakes and described it as a significant catalyst for his personal growth.
