Former federal minister and senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Javed Latif, stated that imposing restrictions on political parties is not the solution to issues.

He stressed that national political parties are assets that strengthen rather than weaken states. He said this during a press conference at the party secretariat in Lahore on Tuesday.

Latif asserted, "Restricting political parties does not solve issues. People sitting in offices and individuals from parties should not misinterpret my words. If the state faces threats, it is not national parties and leaders who pose that danger, but those opposing the country."

He remarked, "In the past 75 years, the country has weakened in every respect. We cannot afford any more trials. The government should convene an all-party conference where it should be disclosed who brought back 6,000 terrorists into the country. Why are we repeatedly being held accountable?"

Latif highlighted the reality that if individuals in institutions or senior members of political parties remain silent for any reason, everyone knows why. "Whenever a government takes steps for the progress and happiness of the nation, it is turned into a lesson. Someone else is in front, but hidden hands belong to others, which weaken the state. These hidden hands that weaken the state should be exposed," he added.

He further said, "Some individuals in institutions should resolve their grudges with each other for the sake of the state. The desire to demean each other is not in Pakistan's interest. We are dragged into others' wars, and they themselves escape unscathed."

Latif concluded by urging for a more constructive approach to address the nation's challenges rather than imposing restrictions on political entities.
