The Ministry of Education has announced the establishment of Emerging Technology Centres in 350 schools across Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
,As reported by Express News on Sunday, the initiative, directed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, aims to transform Pakistan into a global IT hub.
The project, part of the Emerging Technology Education initiative, seeks to equip schoolchildren with advanced skills in emerging technologies such as virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.
These centres will prepare students for the rapidly evolving digital landscape they will face in future endeavours.
According to the Ministry's statement, the centres are a strategic part of the government's plan to boost Pakistan's IT exports and capabilities.
The centres will introduce students to cutting-edge technologies, enhancing their skills and preparing them for a digital future. They will be divided into two facilities, with the project implemented by 175 highly trained tech fellows.
The goal is to revolutionise Pakistan's IT landscape and pave the way for a brighter future for the nation's youth.
