A judge sentenced the murderer of former Muzaffargarh city nazim Mian Muhammad Hussain Muna Sheikh to life imprisonment and imposed a fine worth Rs1 million on Wednesday.
The court found the accused who was an employee of the late
local representatives guilty of murdering Muna Sheikh.
The employee had killed the victim and wrapped the body in sheets and blankets before fleeing.
The Civil Lines police had later arrested the accused, Bakal who had confessed to the murder.
Muna Sheikh had gained widespread attention in 2018 when he declared assets worth billions of rupees in his nomination papers.
He had also contested elections for the national and provincial assemblies several times.
His late father, Sheikh Fazl Hussain had also been an MPA from Muzaffargarh.
