Heavy rain, thunderstorms forecast across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa

Severe weather conditions expected in areas like Chitral, Swat, and Abbottabad, warns PMD

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather alert, predicting heavy rain with thunderstorms across multiple districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

The forecast indicates that areas such as Chitral, Upper and Lower Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Bajaur, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Mohmand, Charsadda, Kurram, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, and South and North Waziristan are likely to experience severe weather conditions.

In Peshawar, the provincial capital, 6mm of rainfall was recorded on Sunday. Other significant rainfall measurements include 27mm in Dera Ismail Khan, 3mm in Pattan Kohistan, 9mm in Kakol, and 6mm in Balakot.

Temperature readings for the same period show Peshawar, Chitral, and Dera Ismail Khan at 34°C. Malam Jabba reported a cooler 21°C, Kalam 25°C, Kakol 28°C, Balakot 30°C, and Parachinar also at 28°C.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions as the weather conditions could lead to potential disruptions.
