The highly anticipated fourth installment of the My Hero Academia series, titled My Hero Academia: You're Next, is slated to debut in North American theaters on October 11, 2024.

The announcement, made exclusively to Deadline, reveals that the film will be screened with both English subtitles and dub releases by Toho International (Godzilla Minus One).

The storyline of My Hero Academia: You're Next unfolds in a dystopian society overrun by villains. The plot centers around Izuku Midoriya, a student at U.A. High School, who strives to embody his ideals of heroism. He confronts a villain who mimics the hero he once idolized, according to the official synopsis.

President Koji Ueda of Toho International expressed enthusiasm about expanding their role as film distributors in the US following the success of Godzilla Minus One.

He stated, "Through the success of Godzilla Minus One, it became clear US moviegoers want to watch Japanese theatrical releases as intended – on the big screen with their friends and fellow fans. This has encouraged us to bring additional Japanese titles and iconic franchises to US cinemas, and this October, we can’t wait to bring fans My Hero Academia: You’re Next for a nationwide release."

The North American premiere date was unveiled during the My Hero Academia Special Event at the 2024 Anime Expo in Los Angeles, following the earlier announcement of the film's release in Japan on August 4.

My Hero Academia originated as a manga series in 2014, achieving global success with over 100 million copies sold worldwide and multiple appearances on The New York Times Best Seller list. It was subsequently adapted into an anime TV series in 2016 and has spawned three previous theatrical films: My Hero Academia: Two Heroes (2018), My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising (2019), and My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission (2021).

Netflix's involvement in a live-action adaptation of My Hero Academia was also confirmed, with plans for production and distribution by Legendary Entertainment, written by Joby Harold and directed by Shinsuke Sato.
