Watch as Marlon Wayans tells home burglars to “pick a better target”

The comedian addressed a recent burglary at his Los Angeles home on Instagram.

Marlon Wayans, 51, took to Instagram on July 4 to address a recent burglary at his Los Angeles home, emphasising that despite the intrusion, his family remains unharmed and most of his belongings are intact.

In a video message, the comedian assured his followers, "Everyone is fine. I’m grateful." He humorously warned potential thieves, "I am the wrong [person] to rob. Save your energy. I don’t have anything valuable in my house except MY HOUSE."

Wayans elaborated, "Sorry, I live a simple life with 2 [cars] and one of them is a 1994 Range Rover, you will need a jumpstart if you steal it cuz the battery is dead." He advised the burglars to "pick a better target," highlighting the impracticality of stealing from him.

"They didn’t really get much because I don’t own s—t," Wayans emphasized in the video. He reiterated that his physical home is his most valuable possession, adding, "I’m not flashy. No jewelry. No necklaces. I don’t have cash. I use credit cards."

The burglary, which occurred around 2:30 a.m. on June 29, involved entry through a broken window at the back of the house, according to TMZ. Marlon's brother, Keenen Ivory Wayans, was home at the time but did not hear the intruders enter.

An employee discovered the damage the following day, noticing thousands of dollars in cash and a safe were reportedly stolen. Police are investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made.

Similar incidents have targeted other celebrities in the Hollywood area recently, including NBA players Patrick Patterson and Talen Horton-Tucker, and reality TV personality Kyle Richards’ daughter Farrah.
