Kate Winslet expressed heartfelt condolences for Jon Landau, renowned producer of 'Titanic' and 'Avatar: The Way of Water', following his passing at the age of 63.

Winslet, who worked closely with Landau since her breakout role in 'Titanic' at the age of 20, credited him for deepening his passion for filmmaking over the years.

'Titanic', directed by James Cameron and produced by Landau, catapulted Winslet to global fame with its record-breaking box office success. The film earned $2.2 billion and garnered Winslet her second Oscar nomination, the first for Best Actress. In the iconic role of Rose DeWitt Bukater, Winslet captivated audiences alongside Leonardo DiCaprio's Jack Dawson.

Reuniting with Landau and Cameron in 2022 for 'Avatar: The Way of Water', Winslet portrayed Ronal, a pivotal member of the Metkayina sea clan. The sequel, grossing $2.3 billion, continued their successful collaboration in cinema.

Speaking to Deadline, Winslet reflected on Landau's character, describing him as "the kindest and best of men" known for his compassion and exceptional support of creative teams. She emphasised his commitment to family, both personal and professional, and remembered him fondly for his warmth and gratitude.

"I can’t believe I am writing this, can’t believe he is gone," Winslet expressed, highlighting the profound impact Landau had on her career and the film industry.
