DIJKOT:

A woman along with her daughters killed her daughter-in-law by sprinkling oil and setting her on fire due to a domestic dispute.

According to the police, Khadija Bibi, a resident of Sarliyan, stated in her complaint her 30-year-old daughter Salma was married to Khurram Shehzad, a resident of Dijkot, in October 2021. Shortly after the wedding, Khurram went to Saudi Arabia for employment.

During this time, the victim started having minor disputes with her mother-in-law Zubaida.

After a recent altercation, Zubaida, on the instigation of her son Khurram, along with Wasim, Muneeba and Rubi, subjected her daughter to violence, poured petrol on her and set her on fire, the complainant alleged.

As a result, the victim suffered 60 per cent burn injuries.

She was taken to a nearby hospital in a critical condition and then transferred to the Allied Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

According to the victim’s mother, Zubaida, with the help of other family members, had set her daughter on fire to take revenge for a domestic dispute.

While admitting the victim to the hospital, the suspect had claimed that her daughter-in-law had suffered burns because of a gas cylinder explosion at home.

The police have registered a case under sections 302, 336B, 109 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code and started a search for the suspects.

Meanwhile, Ali Ahmad, a resident of Bara Mal Chak, informed the Balochni police that his rovals had shot dead his son Adnan.

The complainant stated that his nephew Husnain was returning after fixing a tractor-trolley tyre puncture when Imran, Afzal alias Pakka, Mohiuddin, Sulaiman, Parvez and Ijaz, among others, intercepted and assaulted him.

After returning home, Husnain narrated the incident, following which Ali, along with his son Adnan and others, went to the attackers.

Upon seeing them approach, the suspects opened fire, resulting in a bullet injury in Adnan’s chest, the complainant stated.

Despite being transferred to the Allied Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.

The police handed over the body to the family of the deceased after completing the legal formalities and said investigations into the case were under way.
