Inviting Indian FM to protest is ultimate treachery: Azma Bokhari

Punjab information minister Azma Bokhari has said that inviting the Indian Foreign Minister to participate in an anti-state protest is the ultimate level of treason.

"Let’s see when the supporters of Israel will be invited to protest," Bokhari further said in comments that came in response to the statement of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Information Adviser Barrister Saif.

Earlier Barrister Saif, stated on a local news channel that the PTI plans to invite Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar to address their protest at D-Chowk during his visit for the SCO summit.

Saif emphasised the PTI's constitutional right to protest and highlighted the move as a way to showcase Pakistan’s democratic freedoms, countering the federal government's portrayal of restricted protests in the country.

The Punjab information minister added that inviting the Indian Foreign Minister to an anti-state protest is the ultimate level of treachery. These people have no concept of national dignity, integrity, security, or sovereignty.

The Punjab Information Minister further stated that, "the DNA of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) carries anti-Pakistan elements. Their mission is to weaken the roots of the country."

"The participation of Afghan citizens in the anti-state protests of this "Fitna Party" raises many questions. The arrest of Afghan citizens involved in the protests has exposed their motives," she further said.

Azma Bokhari also said that the "prisoner of Adiala Jail has vowed never to let peace and prosperity thrive in Pakistan. For this fitna, Israeli, Afghan, and Indian lobbies are pushing hard. The wise and intelligent people of Punjab have rejected the narrative of the prisoner of Adiala Jail."

Previously Islamabad Police had arrested 412 individuals, including 60 Afghan nationals, in a preemptive crackdown ahead of PTI’s planned protest at D-Chowk on Friday.
