Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has lauded the Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) team for their achievement in heart surgery.
The experts have successfully performed a hybrid coronary revascularisation on a patient with three-vessel coronary artery disease for the first time.
The CM highlighted the importance of this achievement, noting the simultaneous success of the LIMA to LAD graft and stenting of the left circumflex coronary artery. He described the accomplishment as a remarkable advancement in medical science.
The patient is reported to be in good health and recovering rapidly.
Shah extended special congratulations to the healthcare sector, particularly Director Dr. Rahim Bux Bhatti and his entire team, for this outstanding success.
He also expressed heartfelt appreciation for the cardiac surgery team, including Professor Muddasir Iqbal Dar, Dr. Hosh Muhammad, and Dr. Muhammad Farhan Khan, as well as the cardiology team comprising Dr. Niaz Hussain, Dr. Syed Jafar Shah, and Dr. Khalid Hussain.
Additionally, he acknowledged the anesthesia team of Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed and Dr. Shakeel Ahmed for their critical roles in this achievement.
