Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) planned rally in Islamabad’s Tarnol area on July 6 is facing uncertainty due to the approaching Muharram.

According to Express News, sources revealed that PTI had chosen Tarnol for the rally. However, PTI leadership is now reconsidering holding the event.

Allied party Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) has also suggested cancelling the rally. PTI sources mentioned that the commencement of Muharram is a significant reason to avoid the gathering.

"On one hand, permission for the rally is granted, while on the other, our people are being arrested," the sources within the PTI said. PTI leadership is considering cancelling the rally due to these arrests, among other reasons.

The PTI leadership is currently deliberating on the matter, as there is strong support from party workers to proceed with the rally.

The party leaders had announced plans to hold a major rally in Islamabad on July 6, following a meeting with Imran Khan in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail on Tuesday.

Ali Muhammad Khan addressed the media, urging the nation to join the rally in support of freedom and the rule of law.

"On July 6, PTI will organise a significant rally in Islamabad," stated Khan. "This is a message for the entire nation to step out for freedom and the rule of law. Our fight is to bring the powerful under the law," he added.
