Nicola Coughlan, the Irish actor known for her roles in "Bridgerton" and "Derry Girls," has raised £1.5 million ($2 million) for the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) through an Instagram fundraiser. The PCRF provides essential aid to children affected by the Israel-Hamas conflict, including food, water, clothing, and medical care. The campaign received 124,000 donations, including contributions from celebrities like Nolan Gould, Bebe Rexha, Amber Gill, Vick Hope, and Gracie Abrams.

"Thank you to actress and Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan for your incredible support of PCRF and your fundraising efforts which totaled an astonishing $2M USD in support of our Urgent Gaza Relief and Recovery efforts," the PCRF wrote on social media. Coughlan expressed her gratitude on Instagram, writing, "Thank you very much to everyone that follows me and shared/donated to the fundraiser, what a difference you have made."

Coughlan has been vocal about her support for Palestine, often wearing an Artists4Ceasefire pin during her press tour for the latest season of "Bridgerton." She told USA Today, "It’s very important for me because I feel like I’m a very privileged person. I’m doing my dream job and I’m getting to travel the world, but then I’m hyper-aware of what’s happening in Rafah at the moment."

Earlier this year, Coughlan joined over 400 entertainment industry professionals, including Jennifer Lopez, Mark Ruffalo, and Florence Pugh, in signing a letter to President Joe Biden demanding a ceasefire in Gaza and Israel. Celebrities like Billie Eilish, Mark Ruffalo, and Riz Ahmed have also shown support for the campaign by wearing its logo on pins at various events.

"No one should make you believe calling for a ceasefire to stop the murder of children is a controversial position, it isn’t, it’s the only humane one," Coughlan wrote on Instagram last year.
