KARACHI:

An eight-member committee has been formed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the discovery of three bodies - a woman and her two children - from a drain within the jurisdiction of Mauripur police station.

The woman, identified as Ruqqayia, along with her daughter Fatima and son Adnan, were reported missing by her husband, who works at a tyre puncture shop. He reported that Ruqqayia and the children went missing on June 28.

"When I returned home from work I found them missing. Family members told me that Ruqqayia had taken the children to a spiritual healer," he stated in his statement to police. After hours of searching, the husband received the tragic news from his nephew that the bodies of Ruqqayia and the two children had been found together in a drain.

Police on Tuesday registered the case as the DIG District South formed an eight-member committee, headed by District Keamari Fayyaz Ali SSP to investigate the case.

The committee includes SP Investigation Keamari Azhar Javed, SDPO Mauripur Amir Shehzad, SDPO Site Division DSP Jan Khan Niazi, SI Clifton Inspector Mazhar Awan, SHO Site B Inspector Ayaz Khan, SHO Mauripur Inspector Chaudhry Tufail, and Mauripur SI Arshad Tanoli.
