Mel C, also known as Sporty Spice, expressed her desire to headline Glastonbury with the Spice Girls, calling it her "absolute dream." Speaking on the Chris Moyles Show on Radio X, live from Worthy Farm, she shared her aspirations for both solo and group performances at the iconic festival.

“Well, it would be quite nice to do it on my own, wouldn’t it?” she told Moyles. “I might have some new music out. Well, I will have some new music out next year.” Mel C, who has previously DJ'ed at the festival in 2022 and performed at the Avalon Stage last year with her band, is now eyeing the top slot at the Pyramid Stage.

Although she initially mentioned the possibility of balancing solo performances with a Spice Girls reunion, she emphasized her preference for a group headline performance. “I think the absolute ultimate would be to do it with the Spice Girls,” she confessed. “There’s nothing I would like more. But you know, while they’re still making their minds up…”

The Spice Girls have never played at Glastonbury, with Mel C noting that “in the 90s, they didn’t have pop music at music festivals.” Fans had speculated about a potential performance at Glastonbury 2023 after Mel B hinted at it on The Big Narstie Show. However, Mel C later clarified that logistical issues prevented the group from performing.

Despite this, Mel C made a surprise appearance with Orbital and Tilda Swinton at the festival, performing "Spicy," a track that samples the Spice Girls’ hits including "Wannabe." The Spice Girls last performed together in April at Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday party, leading to speculation about a reunion. However, Victoria’s husband, David Beckham, dismissed these rumors, stating, “Unfortunately, that’s not happening.”

In other Glastonbury news, Emily Eavis confirmed that the festival will have a fallow year in 2026, but added that talks are already underway with some acts for 2025.
