After years of overlooking the illegal construction of various buildings on Fateh Jang Road, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has finally intervened and sealed 27 structures.
These included five hotels, six markets, three plazas, two service stations, and several poultry farms. Sources say the authority will now move to regularise and provide legal protection to these illegal commercial constructions.
On the instructions of its director general, the RDA has sealed 27 properties. The enforcement squad, comprising the Assistant Director of Building Control, Building Inspectors, and other officials, carried out the operation with the support of Naseerabad police.
The sealed properties include five hotels, seven shops, six markets, two service stations, three plazas, a pipe block factory, a poultry farm, ZN Autos and Care Centre, and several other illegal structures.
Notable properties among those sealed are Al Madina Hotel, Service Station, Madni Hotel, Al Noor Hotel, Aluminum Shop, Zareen Khan Market, Pakistan Hotel, Shaheen Market, Sabreen Plaza, Pakiza Ford, ZN Autos and Care Centre, Qutba Poultry Farm and others.
The owners violated approved plans and maps and the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2021 by constructing illegal commercial buildings without approval and a no objection certificate.
