HYDERABAD:

Police rescued a woman and her teenage daughter, buried alive by her in-laws in a room of a house, where the only door was sealed with block wall and plaster, in Latifabad.

The police reached the scene upon receiving information via 15-helpline and broke into the house, demolishing the wall of the room where Tasleem Jahan, a widow, and her 14-year-old daughter Dua, were trapped.

SHO Hashim Brohi stated that Tasleem and Dua were safely recovered from the premises and taken to the police station.

"Tasleem Jahan has named her brother-in-law Irfan Hussain, her deceased husband's brother Suhail, Suhail's wife Saima, and Suhail's brother-in-law Saleem in the FIR under Sections 342, 448, 511, and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC)," said the SHO.

He added that efforts are underway to apprehend the suspects who fled the scene. Tasleem Jahan alleged that her relatives planed the attempt on their lives to take possession of her share of the property.
