KARACHI:

Sindh Higher Education Commission Chairperson Prof Dr Tariq Rafi has called upon universities to utilise all available resources to elevate academic standards.

He was speaking at a meeting of vice chancellors from leading public sector universities in Sindh at the Sindh HEC office. He stressed the need for universities to prioritise research and development by allocating a substantial portion of government grants.

Dr Rafi underlined the importance of universities devising comprehensive five-year business, administrative, and strategic plans to ensure long-term growth and stability. "The Sindh HEC is providing unprecedented support through grants, training workshops, and quality assurance initiatives. We expect universities to respond proactively and implement necessary measures to enhance educational quality," added Dr Rafi. He also encouraged VCs to conduct third-party audits for financial transparency and mandate regular publication of research journals and papers.
