Experts discuss strategies to address edu disparities

Various stakeholders gathered in Islamabad on Friday to discuss strategies to address the educational disparities faced by women and girls across Pakistan.

The conference, titled ‘Education for Every Woman and Girl,’ was organised by the National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) in collaboration with UNICEF and the British Council.

This event, held at a local hotel, was part of NCSW’s National Women’s Agenda - ‘The Next Horizon,’ focusing on educational disparities in line with the Government of Pakistan’s Education Emergency declaration.

NCSW Chairperson Nilofar Bakhtiar opened the conference with a call to action, emphasising the critical need for inclusive and equitable education. Secretary of the Ministry of Education Mohyuddin Wani reaffirmed the government's commitment to enhancing the educational landscape for women and girls in Pakistan. The conference saw participation from representatives of provincial ministries, highlighting the collective resolve to address regional educational challenges and support the empowerment of women and girls.
