SBP to observe Bank Holiday on July 1

Banks to remain closed for public dealing

The State Bank of Pakistan has announced that it will be closed for public dealing on Monday, July 1, due to a bank holiday to mark the first day of the new fiscal year.

Consequently, all banks, development financial institutions, and microfinance banks will remain closed for public dealings. Despite the holiday, employees of theses banks and other development financial institutions will be in attendance as usual.

Moreover, SBP also announced that all banks would observe extended banking hours on June 29 and 30 “to facilitate the taxpayers in payment of government duties/taxes through Alternate Delivery Channels (ADC’s) and Over-the-Counter facilities”.

As per a statement issued by the SBP, all commercial banks would remain open from 9 am to 6 pm on Saturday while on Sunday, all those branches of banks that remain open on Saturdays would be open from 9 am to 10 pm.
