What happens if rain washes out India vs England T20 World Cup semi-final?

While a reserve day was allocated for the first semi-final, no such provision exists for this match

News Desk June 27, 2024

The second semi-final of the T20 World Cup between India and England is scheduled for today, but there are concerns that rain could significantly impact the match, potentially favouring India.

India, who topped the Super 8 stage without a single loss, will face England, who finished in second place.

The weather in Guyana is expected to be overcast, and rain could pose a serious challenge for England.

While a reserve day was allocated for the first semi-final, no such provision exists for this match.

However, 250 additional minutes have been set aside to complete the game. If the match is abandoned due to rain, the top team from the Super 8 round will qualify for the final, which in this case would be India.

India's consistent performance in the Super 8 stage puts them in a favourable position if the match cannot be completed.
