Jeremy Allen White, widely acclaimed for his role in the hit FX drama 'The Bear', is gearing up for a captivating portrayal of Bruce Springsteen in an upcoming film.
The movie will explore the creation of Springsteen's renowned album 'Nebraska', drawing inspiration from Warren Zanes' 2023 book, 'Deliver Me From Nowhere.'
At the premiere of the third season of 'The Bear' on Tuesday, White expressed his enthusiasm for the project and his plans to incorporate some of his own singing into the role.
"We're gonna try, we're gonna try our best," White shared with Variety, indicating his commitment to authentically capturing the essence of Springsteen's music.
Despite the excitement surrounding his new role, White mentioned that he has not yet had direct contact with Springsteen himself, communicating instead through intermediaries.
"We've, like, communicated a little bit through some other, some other people, but... I hope this still all comes together," he explained.
The actor is intentionally taking time to shape his approach to the character before their eventual meeting.
"I wanna try and, yeah, have an understanding, so that when I meet him, you know, I'll have a bit of confidence somewhere in me to stand there," White added.
Fans of 'The Bear' can continue to enjoy White's performance as the series returns for its third season.
The Emmy-winning show, also starring Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, is set to premiere on Wednesday, June 26 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on Hulu.
