Nicola Peltz-Beckham devastated by beloved chihuahua’s tragic death after grooming session

Mother in law, Victoria Beckham offers support as Nicola vows to uncover the truth behind Nala's passing.

Nicola Peltz-Beckham is mourning the loss of her chihuahua, Nala, who died unexpectedly following a grooming appointment earlier this month.

The actress, 29, expressed her devastation and determination to uncover the truth in a statement shared on her Instagram Story on Saturday, June 22.

“My heart has been shattered these last few months,” Peltz-Beckham wrote.

“This last month in particular has been one of the most painful I’ve ever gone through. From my Naunni’s passing to my angel Nala’s shocking and sudden death — going into the dog groomers healthy and coming out in distress and passing a few hours after — our entire family is devastated.”

Victoria Beckham, her mother-in-law, reposted the statement with a supportive message: “Thinking about you at this difficult time, we love you.”

Peltz-Beckham, who married Brooklyn Beckham in 2022, revealed that she has received numerous messages from people who have experienced similar tragic incidents with their pets and groomers.

“Never in my wildest nightmares could I have imagined other families experiencing the same pain and horror,” she continued.

Advocating for animal safety has always been a mission for Peltz-Beckham, and she is now determined to ensure that no other family endures the same pain.

She is “relentlessly investigating the situation” to find out “exactly what happened in that groomer’s van,” stating that the groomer has not been cooperating with their investigation.

“If her death was not due to foul play, then why isn’t the groomer cooperating with our investigation — they currently are not,”

Peltz-Beckham shared. “Nala was the most amazing, energetic and happy puppy, and deserves better than this heartbreaking ending.”

Nicola and Brooklyn, 25, announced Nala’s death on Instagram on June 16, expressing their sorrow and disbelief.

“Dear Nala, we miss you so much,” Brooklyn captioned a post featuring a photo of him cuddling Nala.

“You were unexpectedly taken from us too soon and hope others don’t experience a loss after something as simple as a grooming.”

He added, “You were the cutest little baby girl and we will always think of you. We know you are looking and barking down on us x We love you so much and miss you beyond.”
