Social media activist Sanam Javed, affiliated with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court (LHC) concerning her further arrests in additional cases.
The petition was submitted by Javed's father and is set for a hearing with LHC's Justice Shahram Sarwar.
The federal government, the Punjab government, and the Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Dr Usman Anwar are among 11 entities named as respondents.
The petition prays that Javed is being subjected to political 'retaliation'.
It further prays that the PTI member has faced arrests on unspecified grounds despite not being named in any case. The petition claimed that Javed is being detained in a jail van until 7 pm every day in harsh conditions.
The petition requests a ban on her arrest without the court's approval, details of all cases against her, and a copy of her detention orders.
Earlier this month, on June 5, Javed was once again arrested in a separate case.
The development came after the admission by Sargodha jail authorities, before LHC's Justice Muhammad Waheed Ahmad Khan, that they had received a "robkar" pertaining to another case in which she had previously secured bail from an anti-terrorism court.
Javed's father had filed a habeas corpus petition in the Lahore High Court, seeking the release of his daughter from what he claimed was her illegal detention by the jail authorities.
