In a significant breakthrough, the Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur police forces successfully neutralised bandit Shahid Lund Baloch, a notorious criminal and leader of the Lund Gang, in a joint operation on Friday.
According to a Punjab police spokesperson, the operation targeted dangerous criminal elements in the Kacha area of Bangla Achha, where he was killed in an armed encounter. The Punjab government had placed a bounty of Rs10 million on Baloch, underscoring his high-profile criminal status.
Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr Usman Anwar commended the police teams for their success, highlighting the operation as a crucial step toward eliminating criminal and terrorist elements in the region. "Eradicating terrorists, dacoits, and miscreants from the Kacha areas is our top mission," he stated.
Baloch was wanted by police for over 28 major offences, including the killing of police personnel, terrorism, kidnapping for ransom, attacks on police, murder, and armed robbery. Numerous cases against him were registered across various police stations in the Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur districts.
The Punjab police spokesperson noted that this operation had been in progress for the past two months, with both police teams employing careful planning and strategic measures to ensure its success.
