PESHAWAR:

A one-day workshop for government school teachers was organized by the Participatory Rural Development Society (PRDS) on Saturday with the aim of improving teaching methodologies and promoting a conducive learning environment in schools.

Organised with the support of Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), Education Cannot Wait (ECW) and the Multi-Year Resilience (MYR) Programme, the training workshop was attended by education advocates and teachers from different schools in the Peshawar, Nowshera and Charsadda districts.

MYR Programme Coordinator Tariq Hayat Yousafzai and Ayesha Malik trained the teachers on effective teaching skills and techniques to help improve learning conditions at school. During the awareness session, teachers also shared their experiences as well as ideas on improving educational standards and the environment at school.

Tariq Hayat told workshop participants that MYR, its partner organisations and the K-P Education Department were actively promoting education in the province, especially for girls.

In that regard, he said, various projects had been initiated at selected schools in Peshawar, Nowshera and Charsadda to provide students quality education without any discrimination.
