Earthquake strikes Islamabad, K-P

The epicentre of the earthquake was pinpointed to the southeastern region of Afghanistan

PESHAWAR:

A 4.7 magnitude earthquake rattled parts of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as reported by the National Seismic Monitoring Centre in the federal capital.

The quake’s tremors were felt across the twin cities and throughout the northwestern province of K-P, including Peshawar, Swat, Parachinar, Malakand, Lower Dir, Hangu, Charsadda, Swabi, and their environs.

The districts of North and South Waziristan also recorded seismic activity.

The epicentre of the earthquake was pinpointed to the southeastern region of Afghanistan, with a depth of 98 kilometres.
