A large number of citizens have fallen ill with diseases such as diarrhoea, stomach problems and heatstroke due to overconsumption of meat during Eidul Azha and have been admitted to hospitals.

In the past three days, around 2,350 patients have been brought to the Allied Hospitals, including children, adults and women. Private clinics in the city are also receiving a large number of patients affected by the heat and overeating.

According to Dr Inayat, Deputy Medical Superintendent of Benazir Bhutto General Hospital, “Intense heat and the hot wind is blowing and citizens should avoid eating too much meat and fried foods. They should make use of green chillies, coriander, and mint while eating meat. Eat less and drink plenty of water – at least 15 glasses a day.
