Noam Chomsky, the esteemed American intellectual, has been discharged from a hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he was undergoing treatment.

The Beneficencia Portuguesa Hospital in Sao Paulo confirmed his discharge, stating that Chomsky will continue his treatment at home.

Noam Chomsky's name trended on social media platforms earlier due to misinformation regarding his death.

The update follows clarification from Chomsky's wife, Valeria Wasserman, who asserted that he is in good health.

According to Folha de Sao Paulo, Chomsky was hospitalised in Sao Paulo after experiencing complications from a stroke he suffered a year ago, which affected his speech and mobility on the right side of his body.

Chomsky and Wasserman have been living in Sao Paulo, Brazil since 2015 where they have a home.

Chomsky gained prominence in the 1950s for his groundbreaking theory that language acquisition is innate. He has authored over 100 books on topics ranging from Middle Eastern conflicts to geopolitical issues.

Throughout his career, Chomsky has been a vocal advocate on various issues, including US military interventions, labor rights, and environmental concerns.
