HYDERABAD:

Following the recent incident of a camel's leg being chopped off in Sanghar district, another case of animal cruelty has emerged in Hyderabad.

A donkey's leg and private parts were allegedly severed by its owner near the Cattle Colony, within the limits of Seri police station on June 12.

By June 14, Seri police had taken custody of the animal and arrested its owner, Mir Hassan Rind, after being informed about the incident.

The accused, Rind, has been charged under Section 429 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), following a complaint lodged by Sub Inspector Arsalan Lateef Channa.

On Saturday, the court remanded Rind to judicial custody. Reportedly, Rind, who works as a donkey cart rider, used an axe to mutilate the animal in a fit of anger.
