The Pakistan Cricket Team won its final match of the T20 World Cup 2024 beating Ireland in the penultimate over of the match.
The Green Shirts and Ireland both entered the inconesequential match having already been knocked out of the comeptition with India and the USA qualifying from Group A.
Pakistan chased down a modest 107-run target set by Ireland to win their final match of the T20 World Cup 2024 by three wickets. Shaheen Afridi was the hero for Pakistan, taking 3 wickets with the ball and scoring a crucial 13 with the bat to earn Player of the Match honours.
Ireland, after being sent to bat first after losing the toss, struggled against Pakistan's pace attack and were restricted to 106 for the loss of nine wickets. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Imad Wasim grabbed three wickets each while Mohammad Amir got two batsmen out.
Pakistan's chase got off to a shaky start as they lost wickets at regular intervals. However, Afridi's late cameo ensured they crossed the finish line with a couple of overs to spare.Meanwhile captain babar Azam made 32 off 34 deliveries as he remained not out staying at the crease till the chase was finished.
