Jake Paul defends Mike Tyson’s decision to fight despite age concerns

Jake Paul has addressed critics who believe Mike Tyson is "too old" to face the YouTuber-turned-boxer in the ring.

In an interview with Babcock on the TMZ Sports TV show earlier this week, Paul emphasized that the legendary boxer, who turns 58 later this month, is capable of making his own decisions. The fight, originally set for July, was postponed until November due to Tyson's medical issues.

"Tell Mike Tyson that. Because he does not give a s*** what anyone thinks," Paul stated.

"He's his own boss. He wants to fight me. He told my team, 'I don't give a s*** about this. Like, tell Jake I'm still going to rip his head off and knock him the f*** out. And, this just bought him more time.' Tell Mike Tyson not to fight and to chill and see how that goes."

The postponement occurred after Tyson experienced an emergency ulcer flare-up during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on May 26.

Despite this setback, Tyson remains determined. "Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly. I am thankful to the medical staff that treated me and to MVP, Netflix, and AT&T Stadium for working diligently to find the best reschedule date for all parties," Tyson said in a statement to ESPN.

"While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight. Jake Paul is getting knocked out."

The highly anticipated bout between Paul and Tyson is now scheduled for November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas and will stream live on Netflix.
