R&B singer Chris Brown experienced a technical malfunction during his concert at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, while performing "Under the Influence." The 35-year-old artist was left suspended in the air after the wires supporting him malfunctioned.

While the audience appeared unaware of the issue, Brown was seen signaling to the stage crew for assistance. A ladder was eventually brought on stage, allowing Brown to descend a few steps before jumping the rest of the way. He was observed exchanging words with the tour workers following the incident.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brown expressed anger over the mishap at the end of his two-hour show but also managed to make light of the situation. His set list for the evening included "Take You Down," "Wet the Bed," "Loyal," "With You," and "No Guidance." Brown's tour is scheduled to conclude with two shows at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on August 6 and 7.

Brown has faced criticism on his current tour for charging fans substantial amounts for meet-and-greet sessions. The singer's official website lists a meet-and-greet package at $1,111 (£868), which includes early entry to the show, one photo with Brown, two signed personal items, a VIP laminate, a calendar, a "tour gift," and a turn in a photo booth. Fans must already have purchased a concert ticket to participate in the package.

In 2022, Brown defended the nature of his meet-and-greet photoshoots, stating he goes "all out" for his fans and criticizing other artists for not engaging with their audiences. "I have the coolest fans on the planet... I appreciate the f*** outta them," Brown said. "These are memories that will last with them forever. Unlike most of the lame a** artists that won’t make eye contact with the people who made it possible to even have a career."

Brown emphasized his gratitude towards his fans, stating, "I only exist because these fans saw something in me I never thought was possible... So I’ma go all out for my fans!"
