CJCSC calls on Turkish defence minister

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, who is on an official visit to Turkiye, called on Minister of Defence, General (R) Yasar GULER, Commander Turkish General Staff, General Metin Gurak, Commander Turkish Land Forces, General Selcuk Bayraktaroglu, Commander Turkish Naval Forces, Admiral Ercument Tatlioglu, Commander of Turkish Air Force, General Ziya Cemal Kadioglu, and Haluk Görgün, President SSB, a government agency dealing with defence production.

During the meetings, both sides deliberated upon various areas of mutual interest, bilateral defence cooperation including security, counter-terrorism, and the prevailing regional environment, an ISPR statement on Wednesday said.

The military leadership shared commitments to enhance defence engagements between the two countries and reaffirmed their resolve to further fortify the fraternal relationship.

In recognition of meritorious services and contributions, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was also awarded the ‘Legion of Merit’.
