In a revelation, India Today recently reported that Bollywood actor Sonakshi Sinha is set to marry her long-time partner, Zaheer Iqbal, on June 23, 2024. The highly anticipated wedding will reportedly take place in Mumbai, marking the beginning of the couple’s journey together.
Sonakshi and Zaheer, who have been romantically linked for a considerable time, are ready to formalise their relationship, should whispers in the Indian media be believed. The wedding will be an intimate affair, attended by close friends and family, along with the entire cast of the series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, in which Sonakshi plays a pivotal role as the foreboding Fareedan.
The couple’s wedding invitation, which has apparently been circulating within the entertainment industry, has been designed to add a creative and Bollywood touch to their special day. Designed to resemble a magazine cover, the invite features the intriguing note, “The rumours are true.” Guests are expected to dress in formal attire for the celebrations, which will be held at the popular venue Bastian in Mumbai.
Amid the wedding rumours, the actor’s father and actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha opened up about the same. In an interview with Zoom, he mentioned that he is not aware of their wedding plans yet and would bless the couple when they inform him. He said, “I am in Delhi right now. After the election results, I flew down here. I haven’t spoken to anyone about my daughter’s plans. So your question is, is she getting married? The answer is that she hasn’t told me anything about it.”
Shatrughan Singa continued, “I know as much about this as what the media has told me. If and when she takes me into confidence, my wife and I will give the couple my blessings. We wish her happiness always. We trust her judgment completely. She would never make an extra-constitutional or illegal decision. As a consenting adult, she has the right to make her own decisions.”
“Having said that, I would like to say that whenever my daughter gets married, I would like to be dancing right in front of the baaraat. I am being asked by people close to me why I am not aware of this and the media is aware of it. All I can say is, these days, children don’t seek permission from parents, they just inform. We are waiting to be informed,” the actor concluded.
Although Sonakshi and Zaheer have never publicly confirmed their relationship, their frequent appearances together and heartfelt social media interactions have often sparked speculation. Known for their undeniable chemistry, the duo has been seen together at various red-carpet events and has exchanged affectionate birthday wishes on social media, endearing themselves to fans.
