Singer Maren Morris publicly came out as bisexual during Pride Month, just four months after finalizing her divorce from Ryan Hurd. The 34-year-old artist shared the news on social media following a sold-out performance in Phoenix, captioning a series of tour images with, "Happy to be the B in LGBTQ+, happy pride π."
Morris and Hurd, who married in 2018 and share a 4-year-old son, finalized their divorce in January after Morris filed for dissolution of marriage citing "irreconcilable differences" on October 2, 2023. The court upheld their property and prenuptial agreements, with Hurd paying $2,100 in monthly child support while sharing custody of their son.
In a recent interview on the New York Times' "Popcast" podcast, Morris explained her decision to quit country music due to its "toxic" environment. "I couldn't do this circus anymore—feeling like I have to absorb and explain people’s bad behaviors and laugh it off. I just couldn’t do that after 2020 particularly. I’ve changed," she said.
