Kim Kardashian recently took a bold fashion cue from Janet Jackson's iconic style archives.
The Balenciaga ambassador swapped her signature sock boots and bodysuits for one of the 58-year-old singer’s memorable outfits from the ‘90s.
On June 4, Kim shared a glimpse of her outfit on her Instagram Story while heading to Jackson’s show in Palm Springs, California.
“I’m spamming tonight, so unless you want to see too much @janetjackson content, I suggest you stay off my page,” she quipped, showcasing her low-waisted, boot-cut lace-up pants paired with a matching cropped vest.
The outfit, originally worn by Jackson in her 1993 “If” music video, was acquired by Kim in a 2021 auction.
The Skims founder won the custom-made ensemble for $25,000 during the “Iconic Treasures from the Legendary Career and Life of Janet Jackson” auction hosted by Julien’s Auctions.
Janet Jackson expressed her delight on social media, reposting Kim’s story with the caption: “Thank you so much @kimkardashian! I hope ‘IF’ gives you as much pleasure as it did me.”
Kim’s penchant for vintage fashion has grown in recent years, with her wardrobe featuring pieces from Marilyn Monroe and Michael Jackson.
For the 2022 Met Gala, Kim wore Monroe’s 1962 “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” dress, a fragile garment she changed out of immediately after the event.
Additionally, she purchased Michael Jackson’s white fedora from the “Smooth Criminal” music video for her daughter North.
