Govt to solve problems of tobacco growers

CM says necessary changes will be introduced in development cess

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has said that concrete steps will be taken to solve the problems of tobacco farmers.

In this regard, necessary changes will be made in provincial taxes imposed on tobacco. A delegation of national and provincial assembly members from Swabi district headed by MNA Asad Qaiser met the CM at Chief Minister House Peshawar on Thursday.

In the meeting, the problems faced by the tobacco farmers in Swabi district were discussed. The delegation demanded measures from the Chief Minister to solve the problems faced by tobacco growers and said that tobacco farmers are facing problems due to increase in electricity bills and inflation.

The CM has assured steps on a priority basis to solve the problems faced by the tobacco farmers and also directed relevant authorities to take necessary steps in this regard.

CM said that concrete measures will be taken to solve the problems of the farmers, in this regard necessary changes will be made in the provincial taxes imposed on tobacco. Among the other members of the delegation who met CM were MNA Shahram Khan Tarkai, Provincial Ministers Aqibullah Khan, Zahir Shah Toro, Faisal Khan Tarkai and MPA Rangeez Khan.
