Tems just released her first album, "Born in the Wild," which has been highly anticipated.
Dropped on Friday, June 7th, through RCA Records and Since '93, the album consists of 18 tracks and features collaborations with Asake ("Get It Right") and J. Cole ("Free Fall"), along with previously released singles like "Love Me JeJe" and "Me & U," the latter of which she debuted during her Coachella performance in April.
"Love Me JeJe," a reinterpretation of Nigerian singer-songwriter Seyi Sodimu's 1997 hit, peaked at No. 4 on U.S. Afrobeats Songs and No. 9 on Hot R&B Songs.
Meanwhile, "Me & U" reached No. 3 on U.S. Afrobeats Songs and No. 27 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, additionally winning the Outstanding International Song award at the 2024 NAACP Image Awards.
In May, she showcased the title track "Born in the Wild" and performed "Love Me JeJe" on The Tonight Show.
The album comes out three years following her previous EP, "If Orange Was a Place," which peaked at No. 7 on the World Albums chart. The EP comprised five tracks, including the collaboration "Found" with Brent Faiyaz.
Tems is set to embark on her inaugural worldwide tour, featuring her first full-length album, "Born in the Wild," beginning next week.
Featuring special guests Naomi Sharon and Lekan, the 31-date journey commences at London's Eventim Apollo on June 12th and spans across Europe, North America, Africa, and Asia before concluding in Australia, with shows scheduled in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney in November.
