Prince Harry is reportedly skipping his son's godfather's wedding due to complications about his attendance.
At 39, the royal has opted out of the Friday celebration for his billionaire childhood friend, the Duke of Westminster Hugh Grosvenor, and Olivia Henson.
Amid his estrangement from his family, Harry allegedly had a direct conversation with Hugh regarding the invitation for him and Meghan Markle to attend the ceremony at Chester Cathedral tomorrow.
Together, Harry and Hugh decided to avoid the "inevitable clamour" that would arise from Harry's presence alongside his brother William and many mutual friends who no longer communicate with Harry.
A source close to the Sussexes told People magazine: "There was an acknowledgement on both sides that it would be difficult for Harry to attend. It was an understanding between the two friends. The decision certainly avoided the inevitable clamour had estranged brothers Prince William and Prince Harry both attended the nuptials, eliminating the possibility of the big day being overshadowed for the couple."
Hugh, who "owns half of London," is expected to have Prince William as an usher at the "wedding of the year."
The property tycoon, who possesses nearly 2,000 buildings globally, is the godfather to Prince George, 10, and Archie, 5.
Speculation arose that Hugh and Olivia had initially planned to exclude the Sussexes from the guest list when their engagement planning started last year.
