Over the Influence: JoJo announces memoir about being a young star and life with addiction

Singer Joanna Levesque, also known as JoJo, renowned for her early 2000s hit "Too Little Too Late," has unveiled her debut memoir, titled "Over the Influence."

The upcoming book promises to be a candid tell-all about her experiences in the limelight and beyond.

"This book is for anyone who has ever felt disillusioned, disconnected, but underneath it all DETERMINED to find themselves and a new way of being," expressed JoJo, 33, in a statement about the memoir, set to be released on September 17 by Hachette Books.

"It's insight into the evolving music industry over the past two decades and a cautionary tale that I want to be the one to tell," she added in the statement.

JoJo kicked off her entertainment journey at the age of 6, making appearances on programs like Kids Say the Darndest Things and Destination Stardom.

By 12, she secured a recording deal with Blackground Records and Da Family Entertainment, catapulting her to stardom.

The artist was brought up and initially managed by her mother, Diana. Her parents, Diana and Joel, separated when she was young, and her father passed away in 2015 due to complications related to drug use.
