Senator Faisal Vawda has requested the Supreme Court to withdraw the contempt of court notice issued to him in the wake of leveling ‘malicious and serious allegations’ against the judiciary during a presser.
The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra), meanwhile, has submitted the record of Vawda’s press conferences in the contempt of court cases ahead of the hearing scheduled for Wednesday (today).
In a written reply submitted by Senator Faisal Vawda to the apex court, he submitted that other politicians, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, PTI leader Raoof Hassan and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had also made similar remarks but they did not face the same fate. The Senator also attached the transcripts of their utterances in his reply.
He begged the court that he “has every respect and regard for the judiciary and can never imagine to do any act which lowers the estimation of the judiciary in any manner.” He prayed the court to withdraw the show cause notice.
Separately, Vawda said that people are suffering in the fight of institutions.
"There is nothing wrong if we highlight the reality of judges' conduct. The nation should be informed about those with tainted files," he said in a TV interview.
Talking about the decision to release Imran Khan in the cipher case, he said that all this is happening under a plan.
In subtle remarks he said if you think someone will come out of jail, you are wrong. The released persons will be caught again, as soon as they come out of jails. But, there will be a time when all will be held accountable for their deeds.

Regarding the state of the legal system in the country, the Senator said even today, the courts do not provide justice to the poor, they do not open for an orphan or widow, they do not come to hear and give verdict in a rape case.
"Pakistan will remain in crisis until the justice system is fixed," he said.
