Harry and Meghan face a smelly situation in their Montecito home due to nearby cannabis farms stinking up the joint.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are encountering an unpleasant situation in their Montecito mansion due to the overpowering smell emanating from nearby cannabis farms.

Residing in their luxurious £12 million estate with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex enjoy lavish amenities such as a cinema, gym, and pool. 

However, recent complaints from neighbors highlight the pervasive "skunk-like" odor and "jaw-clenching stench" originating from legally operated cannabis farms nearby, the Mirror reports.

The proliferation of cannabis cultivation on an "industrial scale" in California, replacing traditional crops like grapes and avocados, remains a concern for residents.

Residents have resorted to extreme measures, with one individual even calling in pest control under the assumption that rodents were the source of the foul smell, only to find no evidence of mice.

According to MailOnline, legal action has been initiated against two farms, with the exception of the one reportedly linked to Meghan's show. 

This is because these farms have been deemed significant contributors to the unpleasant odor affecting the area.

Efforts to mitigate the odor include the consideration of scrubbers, expensive filtering machines costing £17,000 each, with ten machines required per acre for optimal effectiveness. 

Prince Harry's recent disclosures about his past drug use, including marijuana, during a live question and answer session to promote his memoir 'Spare,' have attracted significant attention. 

According to Express US, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are described as reclusive within their Montecito neighborhood, earning them the nickname “ghosts.”
