PESHAWAR:

Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), Rubina Khalid, emphasized the program’s objective to alleviate poverty and financially empower the underprivileged segments of society during her visit to various distribution centers in Swabi.

She reviewed the registration process and the distribution of stipends among beneficiaries, underscoring BISP’s commitment to lifting impoverished families out of the poverty cycle and enabling them to live with honor and dignity, in line with the vision of former prime minister Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

Khalid directed BISP staff to provide optimal facilities and assistance, particularly to women at these centers. She advised beneficiaries to visit their respective centers only after receiving a notification from the official BISP number (8171) to avoid inconveniences, especially during the hot weather.

Her visit to the survey registration desk allowed her to observe the complete registration process. She instructed the officers to display clear written instructions and banners to guide beneficiaries and other visitors effectively.

Despite the challenging weather conditions, Khalid’s visit underscored her strong commitment to enhancing the efficiency and transparency of the BISP payment system.

She aimed to ensure that all beneficiaries receive their rightful amounts with dignity and respect, irrespective of caste, color, or political affiliation. The ongoing registration process for poor families continues, with eligible candidates encouraged to register at their respective BISP tehsil offices.

During her visit, Khalid issued immediate directives to resolve public complaints and improve facilities for women. She emphasized that any form of misconduct or indiscipline among staff would not be tolerated.

Director General of BISP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zohra Aslam, along with other senior officers, briefed Khalid on the services being provided to the people in Swabi. The purpose of the visit was to inspect the payment disbursement process and evaluate the arrangements and facilities for women beneficiaries receiving their quarterly Benazir Kafaalat stipends.

Khalid interacted directly with BISP beneficiaries, listening to their issues and concerns.
