At least six individuals lost their lives and seven others were injured when a passenger jeep plunged into a ditch in Liran village in Abbottabad on Sunday.

According to preliminary reports, the tragic accident took place within the jurisdiction of Bakote police station. The injured were transported to a hospital in Muzaffarabad for medical care.

The unfortunate accident occurred as residents of Liran Beri Bagla village were travelling from Kalyan Bazaar in Azad Kashmir when their vehicle veered off the road and fell into a deep ditch, resulting in the immediate death of several passengers. Among the deceased were a woman, her two daughters-in-law, and a young girl.

Additionally, Muhammad Aslam and Umar Khattab also perished at the scene. The seriously injured were rushed to a healthcare facility in Ambor for urgent medical attention.

In the aftermath of the accident, SHO of Bakote police station, Zubair Tanoli, along with his team, also arrived at the scene. However, by the time they reached, local villagers had already initiated the rescue efforts, retrieving the bodies and assisting the injured. The jeep driver was identified as a resident of Kurli village.
